Kansas Junior Shorthorn Field Day in conjunction with the Beauty and the Beast Show Saturday, June 13 in Canton, KS. We will have a junior meeting at 9:30 am and the show will start with showmanship at 10:30. Show order is alphabetical by breed with AOB and commercial being last.

2020 Junior Nationals

We exhibited 24 head and had 13 juniors participate.
First off, a big congratulations to Faye Smith for being elected to the National Junior Shorthorn Board!
Kansas won Herdsmanship for the 21 head and over!! Great job!
5th in the sock drive and 5th in the state Tailgate!
Our beef cook-off team was 4th and members were: Anaya McCune, Sophia McCune, Jansen Gerstner and Josie Heter.
The quiz bowl team consisting of Wyatt Fechter, Kaley Chambers, Josie Heter and Ryder Heter made it to the second round.
Tayler Bacon and Faye Smith were 2nd in Senior Salesmanship.
Wyatt Fetcher was 5th place in intermediate team fitting with two team members from Missouri. He was also fifth in the Cattlemens Written test, and was first place in the art contest.
Faye Smith was 4th in Senior digital photography and 3rd in graphic design.
Josie Heter was 2nd place in P2 speech and 4th place in arts.
Ryder Heter was 3rd place in P1 photography.
Congratulations Jansen Gerstner for her wins in the Prospect and Shorthorn Plus steer show!! She had Reserve Grand Owned and Grand B&O Shorthorn Plus Steer and along with having Grand Prospect Shorthorn Steer.
Congratulations Ryder Heter who was third in Division with his Shorthorn Plus heifer.
